December 30, 2004 31st Thursday after Pentecost For more information about the Chinese Orthodox Translation Project, see http://prologue.orthodox.cn or contact Project Coordinator, Nelson Mitrophan Chin at mitrophan@orthodox.cnSt. Anne's donates $280 in support of the Translation Project
With pastoral blessing of the priest Fr Stephen Freeman, the Parish of St Anne has donated a generous gift of $280 to the Chinese Orthodox Translation Project. This contribution will be doubled by the $3,000 matching grant by The Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch to use towards the completion of the translation effort of the Prologue from Ochrid, a daily compilation of saints' lives and other devotional material by St Nikolai of Zica into Chinese. Last year at Pascha the parish had the joy of receiving a family into Holy Orthodoxy with strong Chinese connections. The wife is from Taiwan, and the husband, though American, translates Chinese-English for a living. Their natural interest in Orthodoxy in China has helped raise the parish's knowledge and interest in this wonderful mission of the Church. The parish prays for this work and ask that God would bless it and enrich it in every way. For more details about the parish, visit http://www.StAnneOrthodoxChurch.org With your prayers and support, translation of the daily readings for February is near completion. Now is the best time to maximize your contributions, as all donations will be matched dollar for dollar by the Order of St Ignatius of Antioch up to $3,000. For a limited time, request a free booklet on the Chinese Martyrs sent to you or a designated recipient.
